I love to create media, art, and events as a tool for inspiration, education, and community building.
I'm especially interested in global stories about refugees and migration, mental health issues related to trauma, and social, environmental and climate justice movements.
I try to work with (and create) innovative projects that raise awareness and inspire people into action and help people feel seen and heard.
Specialties: Story development, international logistics, team building and management, communications, locations, story and character research, all things archival, and outreach.

Experience:
Max: One Last Favor - (Director / Producer) - Independent Documentary Short about Afghan interpreter “Max” who tries to keep himself and his family alive while a group of devoted retired Marines and their network struggle to fulfill their promises and overcome American bureaucracy to bring their brother-in-arms safely to the US. The film had its World Premiere May 25, 2024 at Telluride’s Mountainfilm Festival.
We Are Not Done Yet / HBO Documentary Films - (Co-Producer) - “We Are Not Done Yet” is the creative journey of ten U.S. veterans of varied backgrounds who come together in hopes of battling their traumatic military histories through the art of written word. Grappling with PTSD, the "warrior poets" share fears, vulnerabilities, and victories that eventually culminate into a live performance of a collaborative poem under the direction of actor Jeffrey Wright. The film premiered on HBO in Nov., 2018.
Indigenize Your Eyes - (Creator and Director) - Indigenize Your Eyes empowers American Indian students to tell their own story through photography. We are striving to amplify the voices of members of our local American Indian community and raise awareness of the history and status of indigenous people in Boulder, Colorado.
Superlative Films - Consultant to independent film fund targeting strategic partnerships and assisting in the production, release and media coverage of independent feature films including Columbus, Lucky, House of Tomorrow, and Night Comes On.
Chasing Coral / Exposure Labs - (Post-Production Consultant) Managed the final edit and Netflix delivery for this feature-length documentary about the bleaching of the world’s coral reefs.
Racing Extinction / Oceanic Preservation Society - (Line Producer) - Oversaw and managed all aspects of logistics including hiring and managing crew, communications, creating systems, coordinating and negotiating gear purchases and rentals, location permitting, determining scheduling, and creating and managing budgets for production. Produced the 2013 UN Climate Change illUmiNations projection event and video - managed a team 60+ for video production of this event. Researched archival footage and photos, negotiated rates, supervised research staff and handled all licensing negotiations and contracts and clearances for stock footage and music and supervised post-production and Sundance and Discovery Channel deliveries.

Come Back To Sudan - Co-Director/Producer - Independent Documentary Short Film about 3 Lost Boy refugees returning home after the long civil war in South Sudan. Winner of Aspen ShortsFest Audience Award, this film was broadcast on Rocky Mountain PBS, and has screened at film festivals globally.
Lost and Found - Director - this 30-minute documentary follows a group of “Lost Boys” of Sudan who were resettled in Colorado after years languishing in refugee camps in Africa. The film was developed and produced for Just Media’s Common Good TV series and aired on Comcast.
